What's Happening?

Currently working…
Since June, I have been in Australia working and catching up with family and friends. Thank you for praying that I would find work while I am here! God answered them with 3 part time jobs (pet shop, children’s day care, cleaning)! :) On January 16th I will be heading to Michigan to build up a team of people who can come behind me with prayer, financial help, and encouragement, so that I can begin working with Pioneers Canada early next year.

 What will I be doing?
I will be working at Pioneers Canada as an intern for 2 years .  Pioneers is a mission agency that “mobilizes teams, to glorify God amoung unreached peoples, by initiating church planting movements in partnership with the local church.”  I will have many different responsibilities but will have two main roles. The first one will be mentoring missionary kids whose parents are church planting among people that have never heard the name of Jesus. Many of these kids face lots of challenges living in a different culture, and I hope to be an encouragement to them. The other opportunity I have is to help with the short term mission trip program. This will mean building relationships with people that are considering missions and walking along side of them as they pursue the calling God has laid on their heart.

Some practical ways I hope to be involved…
· As an intern for 2 years, I will be learning lots and just being available to help out in different ways in the office , such as administration.
· Developing some resources to encourage MKs with their resiliency and growth.
· Helping those that are interested in missions and showing them the next steps, linking them with teams around the world, and helping to prepare them to live out God’s calling on their life.

 My Heart for Missions
I am SUPER excited to begin working with Pioneers! I have wanted to be apart of missions since I was very young, and over the past 2 years I have wrestled a lot with whether missions is something I truly desire to be apart of and not something based upon my upbringing or my parents, but now I REALLY believe that this is what God is calling me into. I am excited to be able to encourage other missionary kids (whether they be struggling with transition, culture differences, lack of friends etc.), as I know a lot of how challenging it can be, point them to Christ and show them the positive things in being an MK. I am also excited to come alongside people who are interested in being apart of mission.  Through my experiences in Ethiopia, Indonesia, and having missionary parents, I feel I can use these experiences to help others as they follow God’s leading in their life.

I cannot do this without YOU!
There are ways you can help be apart of what God is doing by praying, as there will definitely be many challenges that I will face, and I cannot do this without God’s intervention. Also all my financial needs will need to be met through the generosity of faithful supporters, whether that be a special one time gift or a monthly commitment.  I would also love to hear from you! Sometimes a well-timed letter is the best kind of encouragement there is!

Thank-you so much for your prayers and support! I really appreciate them as I get ready to head to Ontario, Canada early next year! I would love to hear from you as well! So please feel free to send me an email. :)
